Our clients already know: RentAcc works directly with a Moloco account manager who supports launches, shares up-to-date insights and highlights weak spots. After our latest call, we’ve compiled key insights that will help affiliates run campaigns on Moloco more profitably, more stably, and scale without smoothly.
These recommendations are actionable insights that should be implemented at the very start of 2026 to stay competitive and keep ad performance strong.
Optimization models: CPA or ROAS
One of the most common questions is which model to choose. According to Moloco data, ROAS usually delivers higher-quality traffic, but at a higher cost. The algorithm optimizes toward real revenue and learns faster to find users who actually generate profit.
ROAS is usually chosen when:
- you can pass revenue;
- you pass first-deposit value;
- you plan to work with cumulative LTV (7 / 14 / 30 days).
CPA performs better when:
- you only have a first-deposit event and can’t pass value;
- the app doesn’t support LTV tracking.
Whitelist / Blacklist
Many affiliates try to improve performance using whitelists and blacklists, but the Moloco manager does not recommend relying on them.
Whitelists may give a decent start, but they burn out quickly and don’t scale well. Furthermore, it makes sense to cap whitelist budgets at under $500/day.
Blacklists should only be used when you have strong confidence backed by solid data — not just a couple of failed launches or a weak sample size. Child-category apps, however, can be excluded right from the start.
If you want to test a hypothesis around specific placements, the manager recommends this approach:
- Launch your first ad set on a broad audience.
This helps the algorithm collect behavioral signals and better understand your target audience. - Create a second ad set specifically for whitelist/blacklist testing.
Carefully exclude the placements you want to test there.
This way, you don’t restrict the main campaign and can still compare results to see whether exclusions actually make sense.
Postback data sharing
Sending only install → registration → first deposit limits the model’s potential. Data is one of the key growth drivers in Moloco — the more data you provide, the better the model performs.
An extended event set usually leads to stronger optimization:
- additional in-app events (depending on the app);
- any metrics that help the algorithm understand user value.
The richer the data feed, the smarter the algorithm — and the cheaper your deposits or revenue become. If you have internal analytics, use it to the fullest.
Multi-format creatives
There’s no universal IPM that can be called “good” — everything depends on the vertical and GEO.
According to Moloco managers, one of the strongest formats worth testing is video + playable. At the same time, they recommend not ignoring other creative formats: static, native formats, and standard video. The algorithm will determine what performs best and start scaling the strongest combinations.
Budget scaling
Here are the rules the Moloco manager recommends following:
- Increase or decrease budgets by 20–30%.
- On small budgets ($200–250), you can double spend if KPIs are consistently strong.
- On larger budgets (>$2,000), only gradual scaling is recommended.
If CPM or CPA increases during scaling, try launching a second campaign:
- with a different set of creatives;
- or with a different optimization model (e.g., CPA vs ROAS).
This can help reduce the risk of internal competition between campaigns.
Conclusion
To get the most out of Moloco, it’s crucial to give the algorithm enough “room” to learn and a sufficient amount of data. The recommendations above can become real growth points: test them, and you’ll achieve higher-quality traffic, more stable conversions and smoother scaling of winning campaigns.
